Fales Continues Hot Streak With Desert Classic Futurity Victory

HOENIX, AZ—MAY 3, 2013—Coming off two stakes wins last weekend, Turf Paradise Leading Quarter Horse trainer Matthew Fales continued his hot streak this afternoon when Heat Warning prevailed over Jess Feelin Blue in the $64,368 Desert Classic Futurity.

Under jockey Esgar Ramirez the bay gelding surprised at 10-1 odds while completing the 300 yard course in :15.098 seconds. It was the second win in as many starts for Heat Warning and the $32,181 winner's purse boosted his career total $33,865.

Owned-and-bred by Fales' parents Ralph and Carolyn Fales, the Arizona bred is by leading sire A Regal Choice from the Thoroughbred daughter of Dixieland Heat (TB), Its a Dry Heat (TB).

Ralph and Carolyn were also recently named Turf Paradise's Leading Owners for the 2012/2013 season.

Second fastest qualifier Jess Feelin Blue broke a bit slow to finish second, earning $12,873 for owner Y/N Horse Stables, LLC. Omar Lorta conditions the Jess Louisiana Blue filly from the Separatist mare Polynesia. Dean and Melinda Boyle bred Jess Feelin Blue in Oregon.

Tac A Hike, a Tac It Like a Man gelding from the Chicks Beduino mare Nonthintinybouther, finished a neck back in the show position. Gina Stratton saddled the 2-year-old for owner Cesar Martinez. Ridden by Rodolfo Arvizu. Double Bar S Ranch, LLC, bred Tac A Hike in California.

Fastest qualifier Capital Eye drifted out in the 10 hole and finished a nose back in fourth.

Completing the field were Hawkinsons Trouble, Lady Regard, Swiss Riff, So You See, Jm Ceo and Heza Royal Scooter.
