PHOENIX, AZ—DECEMBER 7, 2014—Trainer Matthew M. Fales saddled his second stakes winner on Sunday's card at Turf Paradise when Heat Earning prevailed by a neck over Tylers Zoomin in the $34,960 AQRA-Turf Paradise Open Quarter Horse Derby. Daisy To Go was a neck off the leaders for third.
Ridden by jockey Jorge Bourdieu, who won the AQRA-Turf Paradise Open Quarter Horse Futurity aboard Jess One Looke in the first race, Heat Warning broke on top and held off Tylers Zoomin while completing the 400 yards in :19.969 seconds, a 95 speed index.
